DeKalb County Bathroom Remodel

Our DeKalb County client had outgrown their traditional bathtub and desired a spacious shower in its place, along with an overall brighter atmosphere to complete the renovation project. The Ken Spears Construction team worked to bring this vision to fruition with a custom bathroom remodel. We transformed their space into an inviting bathroom retreat that truly fits how they live – giving them comfort, function, and beautiful aesthetics.

Project Overview

Ready to move on from their hard-to-access freestanding high-sided tub, they wanted a shower in the space and more room to move about. Removing a bathtub isn’t easy, but our experienced bathroom remodeling team enthusiastically got to work. The finished project made their time in their bathroom more enjoyable and provided a bright and airy space. While working on the project, we updated some other features to improve the showering experience.

Challenges for the Homeowner

For our clients, the cramped feel and lack of natural light created by a high-sided tub was anything but inviting. We worked to create an open environment that maximized available space. We helped them achieve the following:

  • Improved layout and lighting
  • Updated design elements.
  • Better comfort and accessibility

How We Solved the Problem

While meeting at their cozy home, we formed an understanding of the couple’s specific needs and wants for their bathroom. Our design team crafted a plan tailored just for them that flawlessly balanced space, accessibility, and comfort. We chose the tile, cabinetry, and fixtures to bring the project together and got to work!

We completely revamped the bathroom, replacing a cramped bathtub with an expansive shower boasting eye-catching polished marble walls in a brick pattern. The bright tile and glass doors help bring brightness to the room. To add comfort, we installed a built-in shower bench and added the convenience of a handheld shower wand – creating both an accessible and luxurious environment.

Beautiful rustic hickory cabinets perfectly complemented the style of the home with a natural finish, topped with exquisite Cambria Quartz countertops. Moen Wynford Collection fixtures further enhanced the upscale look in bronze for effortless maintenance. To improve lighting, wall-mounted lights were installed, while recessed shelving provided an elegant finishing touch to store essential bath items like bath wash and shampoo.

Design Elements Used to Create The Tranquil Master Bathroom Retreat

  • Rustic hickory cabinets in a natural finish
  • Cambria Berkeley Quartz Countertops
  • Moen Wynford Collection bathroom fixtures in oil-rubbed bronze.
  • 12′ x 24′ polished marble in a brick pattern for the shower walls
  • ½” heavy glass shower door
