Ken & Kathy
Co-founders
Ken and Kathy Spears have been part of Ken Spears Construction since the doors first opened 45 years ago. Their favorite Ken Spears Construction memories include talking to people on the phone and thinking about all the wonderful people they have met. The things they enjoy most about helping people transform their homes include seeing the finished 'after' photos and creating a safer and user-friendly space. Kathy's hobbies include knitting and sewing, reading mystery novels, and cooking. Ken's hobbies include lawn work, and working in his shop.
Greg
President
Greg is the President as well as the production coordinator and loves helping others. Some of his favorite Ken Spears Construction memories include all of the different people he’s gotten to work with throughout the years. His favorite spaces to renovate are kitchens and exterior spaces, he loves Seinfeld, food from the grill, listening to Ted Talks, and some of his favorite hobbies include spending time with his wife and daughter, being on/in the water, and golf.
Carrie
Office Manager
Carrie is the office manager. Her favorite memories of working at Ken Spears Construction include the times the company has gotten together to have fun. What she enjoys most about helping clients transform their homes is when they call back and she gets to visit with them again. She loves listening to Josh Groban, watching This is Us, drinking coffee, and her favorite hobbies include camping, crafts, and spending time with family and friends.
Mike
Project Coordinator
Mike is the project coordinator and loves making outdated spaces new again. His favorite memories of Ken Spears Construction are the company outings, and his favorite space to renovate is the bathrooms. Mike loves watching Family Guy, listening to Hank Williams Jr., and eating Italian food. His favorite hobby is camping.
Marianne
Project Consultant
Marianne Carlson joins the Ken Spears Construction team as a Project Consultant. Her education at Purdue University with a B.A. in Interior Design equips her nicely to help incorporate function and design. She is a long-time resident of Sycamore. Her favorite memory of Ken Spears Construction is as a client where she experienced a bathroom remodel so that she understands the project from both sides. Her favorite pastimes are watching Friends, playing games, and teaching her dog new tricks. Her favorite food is barbecue, and her hobbies are traveling, spending quality time with family and, visiting estate sales in search of records to add to her vinyl collection.
Elizabeth Metcalf
What do you enjoy most about helping clients transform their homes?
I love hearing all the positive things clients have to say about their new space once it’s complete.
Favorite off time activities:
I love golfing, working on my house, taking long walks with my husband and pug, and selling real estate.
